The acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, confirmed today, Monday, the work of the committee to review the academic certificates of the ministry's employees has ended after examining and auditing all the academic qualifications of 3019 employees out of 3053 employees who hold post-secondary qualifications without recording any comments, while the remaining 34 employees are being addressed by the Civil Service Bureau to know their legal status.
Al-Ajmi said that this comes in implementation of the Cabinet's decision to review all university certificates of citizens and residents working in the government sector and who have obtained post-secondary qualifications since 2000.
He added that the ministry's certificate review committee has completed its work after 8 months of its formation according to multiple stages and legal frameworks and foundations to verify the validity of qualifications, indicating that there are 34 employees who have been addressed by the Civil Service Bureau to know their legal status according to the academic certificates and academic qualifications they have obtained.
He explained that the committee relied during its work on the digital transformation in the mechanism of receiving certificates according to an (electronic code) to receive the qualifications of the ministry's employees accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kuwaiti consulates abroad and the embassies of the countries granting those qualifications to review them and verify their validity and address the concerned authorities in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to approve and equate them in accordance with the legal mechanisms and regulations in force.
Al-Ajmi stressed the need to combat the phenomenon of fake and forged certificates and confront corruption in order to preserve public money and the rights of employees, praising the efforts of the Committee for Reviewing and Examining Academic Certificates and Qualifications, which included under its umbrella national legal and administrative cadres who carried out their work to the fullest extent.
