Al-Mutairi reviewed the "media" strategy and announced the official identity of the new news channel

The Minister of Information and Culture, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, confirmed that the Ministry adopted, in preparing its strategy (2021-2026), a participatory approach to planning, which is a globally approved scientific methodology, developmental and sustainable by experience, aiming to involve all concerned parties in the decision-making process.

This ensures that the goals are achieved effectively and sustainably. Minister Al-Mutairi said during a press conference today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Government Communication Center entitled (Strategic Outputs of the Ministry of Information), that this conference comes based on the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. May God protect and protect them and the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, to follow the principle of transparency in presenting information to citizens and to enhance media communication based on numbers and facts.


He explained that various work teams were formed in the ministry that used the “facilitation” tool to collect information, manage discussion circles, and desk surveys. The best global practices and international experiences were reviewed to ensure that our strategy was compatible with international standards. He added, “After collecting all the data and information, we launched Our strategy was approved, which was judged by a committee of specialists. We were honored to work with them, as they were the guides to the female employees, male employees, and creative national cadres who worked on creating the strategy.”


He pointed out that the employees and leaders working on the strategy felt that it emanated from them, concerned them, and expressed the official media sector, indicating that the method of work was through careful harmonization processes between two tracks that go together at the same time, the first being the operational plans and the second the qualitative and creative initiatives. With regard to the operational plans. He stated that two paths were drawn, the first to raise productivity and the second to control quality, explaining that with regard to initiatives, the Ministry has moved in directions based on its strategic objectives.


Regarding the paths of the past three years, the Minister stated that 99 electronic systems were launched to keep pace with the progress of digital transformation processes, adding that these processes greatly helped improve the business environment, “which led to an increase in television and radio advertising revenues. The government printing press also succeeded in increasing its revenues by 65 percent and increased Revenues from the Official Gazette increased by 30 percent, while revenues from licensing application fees increased by 97 percent.”


He stressed the constant concern for operational plans to proceed smoothly in order to increase productivity, as four television studios were created and four radio stations were launched at zero costs based on the creativity of creative national cadres.


He pointed out that 4,735 regional exchanges were reached regarding content creation, and film and photographic materials were archived since 1958 until today we have reached 200,000 materials with a detailed description of them, “which has increased the number of followers of media content on social media networks by 34 percent.”


Regarding quality control operations, Al-Mutairi said, “We launched a set of work manuals and guidelines for safer procedures and a higher-quality media product. We also launched a set of ministerial decisions related to regulating the content industry and the services provided by the Ministry. Today, we also reached 83,000 inspection tours carried out by the Ministry.” .


He stated that all these measures helped the case winning rate reach 83 percent, up from 22 percent, as a result of the controlled, creative, media, and artistic work that helped the ministry obtain 40 local and regional awards.


Regarding specific initiatives, he stated that the Ministry launched (Platform 51) as a strategic approach that takes into account age levels, launching into Internet spaces, and achieving digital transformation. It also launched the institutional volunteering initiative, which succeeded in attracting 45 courses that provided knowledge and expertise to the Ministry.


He added that the Ministry also launched initiatives to develop visual and audio identity in accordance with the highest technical standards in television, radio and digital, and also launched an initiative to evaluate media content and broadcasters within the Ministry, after which it launched the initiative to develop Kuwaiti drama and come up with a guide for creating cultural and artistic media content, in addition to the media regulation initiative and the electronic commercial advertising platform initiative. .


Al-Mutairi revealed that the official identity of the new news channel, which will be launched on July 28, will be announced, explaining that it will be a new window into media policies that believe that the media belongs to the people, addresses them, dialogues with them, and involves them in making the event.


He explained that this is done by adopting an effective methodology for knowledge management, taking advantage of this data and simplifying it with a deeper narrative and logical analyzes to maintain the accuracy and objectivity of the news being circulated and verifying its sources. Hence the importance of launching the news channel, which will provide news bulletins and summaries around the clock and cultural and dialogue programs.


The Minister expressed the hope that this channel will be a new step in the Kuwaiti media scene to reflect national events and achievements with all professionalism, pointing out that it will use the latest technologies in television broadcasting, photography and directing, and will work from studios equipped at the highest level, benefiting from the expertise and technical crews in the Ministry of Information.


He said that the ministry’s progress and achievements were in accordance with a clear vision, which is to provide media worthy of the status of the State of Kuwait and its prominent media role. Hard work and dedication were done to achieve this vision, inspired by the high directives of the political leadership in the country to follow the approach of transparency and communication as a basis for building a conscious and cultured society.


Minister Al-Mutairi stressed that the achievements we have achieved are not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a journey full of challenges and opportunities, stressing that we will continue to work diligently and sincerely in an effort to achieve the best for our beloved country. “Every achievement we achieve is a step towards achieving the vision (New Kuwait 2035) so that our media will be a pioneer in creating purposeful content.” Sustainable.
