China on Sunday urged the Philippines to stop its provocations that violate China's sovereignty over its South China Sea after a Philippine ship "illegally" entered waters near Xianbin Jiao atoll in the Nansha Islands "without the permission of the Chinese government.

" "The responsibility for this incident lies entirely with the Philippine side," Chinese maritime authority spokesman Gan Yu said in a statement, adding that "the collision was caused by Philippine ship No. 3002 deliberately and dangerously sailing towards Chinese ship No. 21551.
" A Philippine Coast Guard ship had earlier in August caused friction with a Chinese ship in waters near Xianbin Jiao before later continuing its incursion into Renai Jiao waters.
