Bloomberg said that former US President Donald Trump has left the hospital after being shot at an election rally on Saturday in Pennsylvania.
A White House official said in a statement that President Joe Biden spoke to Trump after the shooting incident.
“This evening, President Biden spoke to former President Trump,” the official added, explaining that Biden would receive an updated briefing on the incident on Sunday morning from law enforcement officials.
Biden will return to Washington late Saturday, local time, after Trump was injured, after he was scheduled to spend the weekend at his residence in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Biden will arrive at the White House after midnight, as stated in the statement.
Trump's election campaign announced on Saturday that he will attend the Republican National Convention next week, after he was shot and wounded in what appeared to be an assassination attempt.
"President Trump looks forward to joining you all in Milwaukee as we move forward with our convention to nominate him to be the 47th President of the United States," the campaign said in a statement.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a statement that it had taken over the investigation into the shooting incident.
The attacker was killed, one of the attendees was killed, and two others were injured in that attack.
