The Chinese Global Television Network announced, on Tuesday, that the Fatah and Hamas movements had signed the Beijing Declaration to end the division and strengthen Palestinian unity.
Chinese Central Television reported that the Palestinian factions held a reconciliation dialogue in the Chinese capital from July 21 to 23.
He added in a post on social media that 14 Palestinian factions attended the reconciliation dialogue sessions.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi confirmed that an agreement had been reached between 14 Palestinian factions to form an "interim national reconciliation government" to administer Gaza after the war.
Wang said during the signing of the "Beijing Declaration" by the factions in the Chinese capital, Beijing, "The most important point is the agreement to form a temporary national reconciliation government on the management of Gaza after the war."
For his part, Hamas leader Musa Abu Marzouk announced that the movement had signed a “national unity” agreement with Fatah and other Palestinian factions during a meeting in China.
Abu Marzouk said: “Today we sign an agreement for national unity. We say that the way to complete this journey is national unity. We adhere to national unity and call for it.”
The two rival Palestinian factions have not been able to resolve their political differences since Hamas fighters expelled Fatah from Gaza in a short war in 2007.
Washington is concerned about moves aimed at reconciliation between the two movements because it supports the Palestinian Authority but bans Hamas as a terrorist group.
