While the Arab and Chinese sides are jointly implementing the “Belt and Road” action plan in various fields, including the field of technology, within the framework of the Arab-Chinese technological partnership, to take full advantage of Chinese technological advantages and employ the catalytic role of advanced and modern technology.
The Arab countries and China enjoy a high degree of economically complementary advantages, as the volume of trade exchange between the Arab countries and China increased more than 620-fold from 1970 to 2010, and Chinese oil imports from Arab countries increased by about 30-fold from the beginning of the 1990s to 2010.
The total volume of trade exchange between Arab countries and China in 2020 amounted to about 239.8 billion dollars, while Arab countries’ imports from China amounted to about 122.9 billion dollars, an increase of 2.1% on an annual basis, while the Arab countries and China are partners for cooperation within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative, where China signed cooperation documents within the framework of this initiative with several Arab countries in addition to the League of Arab States.
