From 2007 to 2008, the METALLURGICAL CORPORATION OF CHINA undertook the construction of the headquarters building of the Asian Olympic Council, namely the Olympia Twin Towers. The project is located in Salmia and consists of three parts: the Asian Olympic Council's office building, hotel, and shopping mall.
The construction area is approximately 140000 square meters, with two towers measuring 137 meters high. The project set a record for the fastest delivery of similar high-rise buildings in Kuwait.

At the same time, the project is located near the sea, with groundwater and soft soil, making it difficult to treat the foundation.
Meng Xiangchun, General Manager of the Middle East Branch of METALLURGICAL CORPORATION OF CHINA, stated that in order to solve the problems of those difficulties, the project team has decided to adopt Chinese technical standards for design and construction after repeated communication with the owner. During the design phase, the Chinese company familiarized with local standards in advance, solve the problem of integrating Chinese and local design standards, and actively communicate with local regulatory authorities for approval, thereby significantly shortening the construction period. To accelerate the construction progress, the Chinese company also planed material procurement and transportation in advance. The steel structure is pre processed in China and shipped to the construction site in Kuwait, creating a fastest record of the construction speed of high-rise concrete structure, which takes 5 days one floor only, and the construction of the engineering structure was completed 10 months ahead of the owner's original plan.
He also stated that the successful completion and delivery of the project marked the completion of China's first steel structure building in the Middle East region; For the first time in the Middle East construction market, Chinese standards were adopted for the design, production, and installation of steel structure buildings.
