Chinese official: Investment opportunities in Kuwait are great and we hope to participate in implementing infrastructure projects

An official at China's top political advisory body praised the investment potential and opportunities offered by the State of Kuwait in various sectors, while expressing hope that his country would participate in implementing infrastructure projects and increasing cooperation between the two countries.

The Kuwaiti Embassy in China said in a statement received by KUNA today, Thursday, that this came during a meeting between the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Beijing, Jassim Al-Najem, and Dr. Cai Guanxin, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.


According to the statement, Cai, who also holds the position of Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Businessmen Association and Chairman of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Area Businessmen Association, expressed his aspiration to cooperate with the Kuwaiti government in implementing huge infrastructure projects and cooperating with Kuwaiti businessmen to increase trade exchange.


The Chinese official praised the "great" investment potential and opportunities enjoyed by the State of Kuwait in all economic and commercial sectors.


For his part, the statement quoted Ambassador Al-Najem as stressing the strength of relations between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural fields and keenness to enhance them to meet the aspirations of the political leadership in both countries.


He pointed out the importance of enhancing trade exchange between the two countries, which reached a record level last year of more than 23 billion US dollars, making China "Kuwait's first trading partner for the ninth consecutive year."


Ambassador Al-Najem expressed his aspiration to enhance cooperation and communication between businessmen in Kuwait and Chinese businessmen from various Chinese cities, whether in the capital Beijing or cities such as Shanghai and Guangzhou or businessmen in Hong Kong and Macau.
