Coming from Al-Hilal... Al-Mayouf to Al-Ittihad for two seasons

أعلن الاتحاد السعودي تعاقده مع عبدالله المعيوف، حارس مرمى الهلال، خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الجارية.

The Saudi Al-Ittihad announced its contract with Abdullah Al-Mayouf, Al-Hilal goalkeeper, during the current summer transfer period.

The Union said in a statement published on its official account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter) at dawn today, Sunday, “The club contracted with Abdullah Al-Mayouf for two seasons, and the Board of Directors welcomed the player, wishing him and his teammates success in the next stage.”

Press reports indicated that Al-Ittihad was considering contracting with a local goalkeeper instead of Brazilian Marcelo Grohe, to take advantage of his seat on the professional list by contracting with a foreign defender.

Al-Ittihad is close to including Spanish Sergio Ramos, Paris Saint-Germain defender, in a free transfer deal.

The departure of Al-Mayouf, 36 years old, from Al-Hilal came after the signing of Yassin Bounou and Muhammad Al-Rubaie.

Al-Mayouf played for Al-Ahly, the second team in Jeddah, during the period from 2006 until 2016, before moving to Al-Hilal.

Al-Mayouf is considered the eighth Al-Ittihad signing during the current summer Mercato, after Al-Sabai Fabinho, Jota, N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, Saleh Al-Omari, Sultan Al-Farhan, and Hassan Kadish.
