Paraguayan Olympic Committee officials have decided to expel swimmer Luana Alonso on Monday for what they deemed to be "distracting" behaviour at the Olympic Village in Paris.
The blonde swimmer was thrown out of the athletes' village after being accused of distracting fellow competitors with her tight clothing and contact with other athletes, the Daily Mail reported.
Luana was asked to leave after Paraguayan Olympic Committee officials said she had created an "inappropriate atmosphere" with her behaviour.
The 20-year-old beauty failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the butterfly event and then began to walk around the athletes' village wearing her own choice of clothes instead of the official uniform provided by Paraguayan team officials.
All athletes are expected to stay after the Olympics, where they will take part in the closing ceremony and other parties in the host city.
In a statement announcing her departure, Paraguayan Olympic Committee President Larissa Scherer said: "Her presence creates an inappropriate atmosphere within the Paraguayan team. We thank her for proceeding according to instructions as she left the sports village of her own free will."
Surprisingly, Alonso announced her retirement from the sport after failing to reach the semi-finals in the butterfly qualifiers, and returned to the United States where she studies at a university in Texas.
While in Paris after leaving the sports village, Alonso stayed at the luxurious Bastille Hotel near the Arc de Triomphe, and visited many of the shops and museums that make Paris a popular tourist destination, as well as visiting the leading French pastry shop "Ladurée", and posted a picture of the world-famous macarons.
The swimmer headed to a number of expensive shopping places, and went to the store of the leading clothing designer "Yves Saint Laurent" on the Champs-Elysees, as well as the fashion house "Louis Vuitton".
She also went to the Roland Garros stands to watch the tennis champions, where she watched matches by Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.
She posted photos on her Instagram account in front of the Eiffel Tower and the Invalides Hotel Museum, which houses the tomb of the French military leader Napoleon Bonaparte.
Luana announced on social media her intention to retire from swimming, without informing her Olympic superiors, and confirmed that she made this decision before traveling to France.
The swimmer did not mention her sudden departure from Paris, but she posted a photo on Instagram of herself heading to the United States.
