The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced today, Sunday, the restoration of power to some industrial areas that had previously been cut off in order to maintain the stability of the country's electrical system.
The ministry said in a press statement that power has been restored to the parts that had been cut off in the areas of (Mina Abdullah, Subhan, Amghara, Sulaibiya, Al-Rai and Shuwaikh).
The ministry had earlier today announced the power cut to parts of some residential and industrial areas.
The ministry called on everyone to rationalize electricity consumption during peak hours from 11 am to 5 pm by following its instructions in this regard, noting that any new updates regarding the status of the electrical network will be announced.
It attributed the reason for the cut to what happened yesterday of a malfunction in the fuel supply (gas) that led to the failure of a number of electricity generation units in the Subiya and Doha West power and water distillation stations.
