Acting Fire Force Chief Major General Khaled Fahd visited the Shaddadiya Hazardous Materials Fire Center yesterday, Sunday, and inspected the work of firefighters and how to deal with hazardous materials in accidents and combat them.
The Fire Department said in a press statement that Major General Fahd conveyed to all the center’s employees the greetings of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef Al-Sabah.
It added that “Major General Fahd followed an explanation of the center’s handling of chemical, biological, radiological and explosion accidents, especially since the center is fully equipped with equipment and devices for monitoring gases from a distance, devices for examining unknown materials to determine the type of material, and advanced mechanisms such as a mechanism to stop leaks and special mechanisms for purification to deal with all hazardous materials accidents.”
It pointed out that Major General Fahd expressed his sincere thanks to those in charge of the center, including officers and non-commissioned officers, calling on them to exert more effort and dedication in order to protect lives and property and achieve community security.
