Harris unveils some aspects of her economic program today

US Vice President Kamala Harris, who has not spoken much about her concrete projects if she wins the presidential election in November, is expected to unveil some aspects of her economic program on Friday, with a focus on purchasing power.

هاريس تكشف عن بعض جوانب برنامجها الاقتصادي اليوم

The 59-year-old Democratic candidate, who replaced President Joe Biden after he withdrew from the presidential race, is heading to North Carolina in the southeast of the country to address the cost of living for the middle class, as well as companies' attempts to "inflate" prices to an exaggerated extent, according to her campaign team.

Her team unveiled initial proposals, such as building three million new homes to address the "shortage" in this area and providing assistance to people who are buying their first home, which may reach $25,000 upon purchase.

Her team also unveiled proposals for middle-class families, including a new tax exemption of up to $6,000 for those with newborns.

CNN also talked about initiatives aimed at reducing food prices.

The US economy continues to grow strongly while inflation, a very costly phenomenon on the political level, is slowing down.

However, the cost of living remains high, especially daily expenses such as food and rent.

"Communism"!

Republican candidate Donald Trump is launching a focused attack on the Democrats from this standpoint. The former president confirmed on Thursday that if he wins, he will "work to reduce" prices "quickly", describing his competitor as a "communist", a word with very negative connotations in the United States.

Kamala Harris has given her campaign a character dominated by enthusiasm and optimism. And it seems that she has succeeded in this, as opinion polls indicate that she is tied or even ahead of Donald Trump in the most important states in the upcoming elections.

The results of a recent opinion poll conducted by the University of Michigan showed that Americans trust Kamala Harris on the economic level more than they trust Donald Trump, something that Joe Biden never achieved when he was a candidate.

There is also a question about the extent to which Harris is prepared to distinguish herself from the current president in the economic and social fields.

Joe Biden has launched massive investment plans and massive infrastructure projects, but for many Americans his presidency remains synonymous with high living costs.

"Theft"

Kamala Harris tends to capitalize on the progress made. On Thursday, with Biden at her side, she praised the reduction in the prices of some drugs, while at the same time moving away from economic policies called "pedonomics."

While Joe Biden focused on employment and re-industrialization, Harris is expected to focus on purchasing power and an economy that includes everyone.

The Democratic candidate has already angered Trump by proposing to eliminate the tax on tips in hotels, restaurants and other service businesses. Trump accused her of "stealing" one of his ideas.

She also promised to raise the minimum wage if she wins on November 5.
