The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Residency Affairs Sector, announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of a gang of six people of two Arab nationalities involved in residency trafficking by establishing fictitious companies that do not exist on the ground through forgery and tampering with documents.
The General Department of Security Relations and Media at the Ministry said in a press statement that the gang specialized in residency trading in exchange for sums of money with the intention of illegal profit, as prices ranged from 350 to 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars to bring in one worker.
It explained that the residency affairs detectives were on the lookout for them as they were able to arrest everyone involved in this matter or provided any facilities to them, whether their sponsors, citizens or others, indicating that all necessary legal measures were taken against them and they were referred to the competent authority.
She added that this came based on the instructions of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and within the framework of the ongoing security efforts to control and eliminate the residency trade, stressing the firm confrontation of any form of residency trade and violation of the law.
