The Ministry of Interior announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of a gang consisting of five people of African nationality who specialized in robbing shops, restaurants and exchange offices.
The ministry said in a press statement by the General Department of Security Relations and Media that the General Department of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Hawalli Governorate Investigations Department, succeeded in arresting these individuals within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to reduce the spread of crime, ensure security and arrest those outside the law.
It added that a search and investigation team was formed from the Salmiya Police Station Investigations Department, and by intensifying efforts, using modern technology and monitoring the scene of the incident, the identity of the accused was determined and they were arrested.
It indicated that after investigating them, they confessed to all the charges attributed to them and they were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against them.
