The Iraqi Olympic team played a distinguished match, against Ukraine, in the opening of its matches in the football competitions in the 2024 Paris Olympics, and achieved a victory, to lead the group, along with the Moroccan team.
The Iraqi national team defeated Ukraine with a score of 2-1, after trailing by a clean goal.
Ukraine scored the lead goal through Valentin Rubchinsky in the 53rd minute, but captain Ayman Hussein equalized the score after only 4 minutes, with a penalty kick.
Victory came at the feet of the strong rising star, Ali Jassim, after technical skill, in the 75th minute.
The Moroccan team defeated Argentina with the same score, in the opening of the second group matches, which put it in joint lead with Iraq.
