Diplomatic sources told the German newspaper "Bild" that Israel will begin an attack on Lebanon in the second half of this July unless Hezbollah ceases fire.
According to the newspaper, Hezbollah does not intend to stop its attacks on Israel until the end of the war in Gaza, which suggests the option of launching an Israeli attack on Lebanon.
Western diplomats told Bild, "Israel may launch an operation in southern Lebanon in the third or fourth week of this month."
Due to the growing threat, many countries are urging their citizens to leave Lebanon.
Global fears are increasing about the outbreak of war between Israel and Hezbollah, which will turn into a broader regional conflict that will drag in other countries in the region.
Last week, American officials told Politico that Washington had informed Hezbollah that it may not be able to prevent an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon.
Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging attacks since the start of the war in Gaza in October last year.
Hundreds were killed on the Lebanese side, most of them belonging to Hezbollah, while dozens were killed and wounded on the Israeli side.
The tensions led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents on both sides of the border between Lebanon and Israel.
