Jordan's annual inflation rate rises by 1.92% in July

Data from the Jordanian Department of Statistics showed on Sunday that Jordan's inflation rate rose by 1.92 percent year-on-year in July.

Compared to the previous month, the inflation rate rose by 0.24 percent.


According to the report, the most prominent commodity groups that contributed to the increase were vegetables, water and sanitation, and personal belongings.


The Jordanian Department of Statistics had issued quarterly estimates of the country's gross domestic product indicators for the first quarter of 2024.


The results showed a growth of 2 percent at constant prices compared to the first quarter of 2023.


As for sectoral estimates, initial estimates showed that most economic sectors achieved growth during the first quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2023, according to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Ghad.
