The reputation of Polish Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is likely to suffer a major blow in the face of growing accusations that he illegally obtained two degrees from a private university in Lodz without taking the required tests.
Dr. Barbara Mrozinska accused Lewandowski of "buying a certificate" after she discovered that he had "passed" two exams supposedly under her supervision.
Although the Barcelona striker received two good grades, Mrozinska says she has not seen the Polish international attend any classes or exams.
She added: "His grade papers show that he passed two subjects under my supervision, but this is definitely not the case. I would have remembered such a famous student."
According to the documents, Lewandowski first obtained his bachelor's degree and later defended his master's thesis via video on March 24, 2018, one day after Poland beat Nigeria 1-0, and 3 days before it beat South Korea 3-2.
His former agent Cezary Kucharski said: “It is unbelievable to imagine that he was studying for diplomas in Łódź while I was his manager. During his visits to Poland, he did not even have time for his family or sponsors, so how he could have found time to study secretly is ridiculous.” ".
Polish media said that Robert Lewandowski's legal team confirms that the player is not hiding anything, and that he intends to clarify the matter.
Lewandowski arrived to the Catalan team in the summer of 2022 after 8 years with Bayern Munich, with whom he scored 344 goals and lifted the Champions League title with him.
