The Ministry of Education stated in a press statement that this referral comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts to implement the law and combat forged certificates and to confirm the efforts of the Minister of Education to continue the reform process and prevent violations.

It added that Minister Al-Adwani approved the recommendations of the investigation committee in the Ministry of Education regarding high school certificates issued by Arab countries and approved by the General Administration of Private Education and referred to the Public Prosecution with the withdrawal of the equivalency and addressing the relevant authorities to correct the procedure.

The Ministry explained that this procedure also comes within a series of firm steps taken by Minister Al-Adwani to ensure the integrity of the educational system, maintain its credibility, achieve the principle of honesty and justice, and confront everything that threatens the safety of the educational system.

She stressed the need for the competent departments to verify the validity of the medical certificates submitted by employees and to implement the administrative systems and regulations regarding them by imposing oversight, controlling work procedures, applying the highest standards of transparency and accountability in all sectors, and revealing any violations or infractions in the work systems and regulations in the Ministry of Education.

It is worth noting that the competent sector in the Ministry of Education responsible for authenticating secondary school certificates from inside and outside Kuwait had formed three specialized teams to review secondary school certificates since 2005 under the directives and direct follow-up of the Minister.

The sector implemented precise procedures and mechanisms to ensure the validity of the equivalence of certificates in addition to linking with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to verify the validity of certificates in the issuing country, as only certificates from recognized schools are approved and are authenticated by the Kuwaiti Embassy.

An electronic program was activated to save transaction data to facilitate the review process and the process of verifying certificates and their validity.
