Minister of Electricity discusses with Chinese delegation the energy projects being implemented in the country and plans to complete them

Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of State for Housing Affairs Dr. Mahmoud Bushehri, discussed with a Chinese delegation the renewable energy projects being implemented in the country with the Chinese side and cooperation in the energy field between the two countries.

The Ministry of Electricity said in a press statement today, Monday, that during the meeting of Minister Bushehri with the Chinese delegation, the executive plans for completing the third and fourth phases of the Shagaya Renewable Energy Project with a production capacity of 3,200 megawatts, as well as the Abdaliyah Photovoltaic Energy Project, which is one of the important and rapid projects to enhance energy security in the country, were discussed.


The ministry stated that the technical team of the two sides was assigned to complete the technical and technical specifications as soon as possible in line with the specified timetable for the projects.


It indicated that the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation in the energy field between the two countries and ways to develop them, and the renewable energy projects being implemented with the Chinese side were discussed based on the strategic memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of renewable energy signed between the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and on the Chinese side the National Energy Administration.


She pointed out that the Chinese delegation during the meeting was headed by the Chinese Ambassador to the country, Zhang Jianwei, and attended by the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait for Asian Affairs, Ambassador Samih Jawhar Hayat.
