Two sources told NBC News that US President Joe Biden "felt betrayed by Democrats" who are trying to convince him to withdraw from the presidential race.

إن بي سي: بايدن يشعر بالخيانة من الديمقراطيين

The two sources told NBC News that the president was "angry" and personally felt hurt by how the party left him out in the cold and tried to push him out.

One source said: “Can we remember for a minute that these people trying to push Joe Biden out are the same people who literally gave us Donald Trump?

"In 2015, Obama, Pelosi and Schumer pushed Biden aside in favor of Hillary; they were wrong then, and they are wrong now."

The source pointed to opinion polls in the 2016 elections that found Hillary Clinton leading by up to nine points.

The source added: “Maybe we should learn some lessons from 2016; one is that polls are bullshit — just ask Secretary Clinton. And second, maybe, just maybe, Joe Biden is more in touch with actual Americans than Obama-Pelosi-Schumer?” "

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spent weeks listening to their members' concerns and relaying them to Mr. Biden.

Publicly, the three said they support any decision Biden makes.

Dozens of lawmakers are calling on him to withdraw

The number of Democratic lawmakers calling on Biden to withdraw from the presidential race has risen to 35, while Biden confirmed that he will resume his election campaign next week.

In a statement from his campaign team, Biden said that he would make more efforts to focus on how to defeat his Republican rival, Donald Trump, saying that the stakes on his victory are high.

Biden insists on his ability to defeat Trump in the race for the White House, but he previously stated that he may withdraw in one of two cases, either due to a medical condition, or the results of polls confirm his lack of chances of winning.

Crossroads

Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounds the options of the Democratic Party, which stands at a crossroads.

A poll conducted by the “UP-NORC” Center for Public Affairs Research showed that about 6 out of every 10 Democrats believe that Kamala Harris will do a good job as president instead of Biden, but the dilemma is not who will replace Biden as much as it is his withdrawal, whose decision only he can make. He as the winner of the primary.

Democrats' fears are increasing that Biden will become an obstacle to fateful calculations, as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi explicitly told Biden that he may destroy the Democrats' chances of winning the House of Representatives in November if he continues to seek a second term, according to the American CNN network.

Politico reported that Pelosi called for an open voting process to choose the party's next nominee if Biden steps down.

As for former President Barack Obama, who still has great influence in the party, he broke his long silence, saying that Biden should reconsider his candidacy.

American reports stated earlier that the Democrats were counting on pressure that might be exerted by both Obama and Pelosi to convince Biden that the time has come to rest, given that they are among those closest to him.

Democrats said that fundraising campaigns for Biden's re-election have become suspended, despite the Democratic Party's planning to accelerate the announcement of Biden's candidacy and his pledge to continue the electoral race.

The sources confirmed that plans to raise funds in Austin, Denver, and California were postponed this week, adding that a number of major donors had suspended their support, with the aim of pushing Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.

But Biden's campaign said his fundraising campaigns will continue as planned.
