He added in a statement that Netanyahu held a meeting today with the delegation and senior Israeli army commanders.

Netanyahu's discussions included the repercussions of concluding the deal on what is happening in the north and with the Houthis. According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

The newspaper explained that the negotiating delegation had received the green light to advance the negotiations.

The meeting with the negotiating team on the swap deal comes hours before Netanyahu travels to Washington.

Netanyahu heads to the United States tonight on an official visit, where he is expected to deliver a speech before the House of Congress on Wednesday, and hold a meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Netanyahu attaches great importance to visiting Washington in order to re-strengthen the alliance with the United States at a time when Israel is waging a war on several fronts.

The ceasefire efforts led by Qatar and Egypt and supported by the United States have not yet succeeded in reaching an agreement, and the two sides of the conflict that has been ongoing for more than nine months in Gaza are exchanging accusations of causing this stalemate.
