In addition, the head of the Kherson region’s military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said that Russian forces shelled the city and its suburbs on Wednesday, and three people were injured in the region.

On Wednesday, the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, discussed the situation on the battlefield and security deals with James O’Brien, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, during his visit to the country.

This comes amid reports that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has ordered the transfer of some military equipment from combat units to the Russian Armed Forces.

Observers attribute this to an urgent request by Russia to compensate for losses and equipment shortages, both in the Kursk region and in other directions.

In a related context, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that its air defenses shot down 17 Russian drones out of 23, at night, over the regions of Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kharkiv and Zhytomyr.

The same source explained that Russian forces targeted Ukrainian regions with two Kh-59 guided missiles.
