The Russian Defense Ministry announced today, Sunday, that the Russian army was able to impose its control over the town of Novoselivka Persha in Donetsk province.
It explained that the operations of the Russian forces resulted in the killing of more than 1,900 Ukrainian soldiers, within the scope of the special military operation in Ukraine during the past twenty-four hours.
It added that the Russian forces were also able, during the past day, to shoot down a Ukrainian "Su-27" fighter, 14 shells from "Himars" and "Vampire" launchers, and 162 drones.
This development comes as a continuation of the pressing military operations carried out by the Russian forces in Donetsk, where they have succeeded in recent weeks in controlling many villages and towns in this province in particular.
A few days ago, Russia announced its complete control over the town of Leninskoye in Donetsk province and improved its tactical positioning on the front line.
Before that, the Russian forces confirmed their control over many towns and villages in Donetsk in recent weeks, especially after their control over Avdiivka.
As Russian forces advance on this front, the Ukrainian army recently admitted that Russian forces are launching their fiercest attacks near the strategic city of Pokrovsk in the east of the country, threatening a major route used by Kiev to deliver supplies to forces seeking to confront the Russian forces.
