At least 40 people were killed, on Wednesday, in the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, following air strikes carried out by the army that targeted two popular markets and residential neighborhoods, as battles continued between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, according to what witnesses and a medical source reported.
Last month, more than 50,000 people fled the city of Nyala, the second largest city in Sudan in terms of population after the capital, as a result of the continuation of the war and after an army aerial bombardment that targeted citizens’ homes resulted in the deaths of 39 people.
