Acting Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, Abdullah Al-Ajmi, said in his speech at a press conference to announce the service on Tuesday that the Authority prepared this service in cooperation with local telecommunications companies and relevant government agencies, and it is limited to legal entities only.

He explained that the user today can identify the name of the calling party, whether the call is from a mobile phone number or from a fixed phone number within the State of Kuwait, indicating that this feature is considered the first identification line for the contact.

He stressed the need for users to adhere to the directives of private authorities regarding not providing personal information such as account numbers, passwords, identifying words, etc.

For her part, Director of the Information Security and Emergency Response Department at the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority, Layali Al Mansouri, said in her speech that this service comes as part of the Authority’s ongoing initiatives to combat electronic fraud and deter misuse of communications media.

Al Mansouri added that the Authority has been keen over the past years to implement several initiatives aimed at protecting citizens and enabling them to identify unknown numbers, which helps them take the necessary precautions and protect themselves from suspicious communications.

She pointed out that this service would contribute to enhancing trust and security among users and educating them on how to protect them from communications from unknown sources and protect themselves from fraudulent communications.
