Acting Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority, Abdullah Al-Ajmi, announced the beginning of the first stages of establishing the technology city in Jaber Al-Ahmad City.
Al-Ajmi said on Tuesday that the authority signed a consulting contract with Wafra Real Estate Company to develop the land allocated for the project, which has an area of 140,000 square metres.
He added that this contract is an important step towards sustainable development of the area designated for establishing the technology city in Jaber Al-Ahmad City to make it an advanced center for innovation and investment in information technology.
He explained that the development of this region will contribute to enhancing the authority’s capabilities to provide advanced technological services to create a fruitful environment for technology companies and service providers.
He stated that the city will be an appropriate infrastructure to become an oasis of knowledge, a headquarters for international technology companies, data centers, training centers in everything related to technology and technology, and a place to encourage young people working in this field.
