Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian Prime Minister, met with Hero Mostafa Garg, the United States Ambassador to Egypt, at the beginning of her work duties in Cairo.
The Prime Minister welcomed the American Ambassador, stressing the strength of the strategic and historical relations linking Egypt with the United States of America, and praising the constructive cooperation and effective partnership over decades with various successive American administrations.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed Egypt's keenness to support bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, and to overcome all obstacles that prevent the development and push of these relations to broader horizons.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the United States of America to Egypt during many stages of distinguished bilateral relations, noting in this regard the role of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in supporting the implementation of important projects in Egypt, most notably infrastructure development projects and enhancing services. Health, and supporting Egypt’s programs in the field of population.
For her part, the Ambassador of the United States of America expressed her happiness at this meeting, stressing the fruitful cooperation existing between the two countries during this time, especially in light of the challenges the region is witnessing. She pointed out the importance of cooperation and coordination of positions between Cairo and Washington in order to support efforts aimed at achieving peace, security and stability in the region.
Hero Mustafa Garg stressed that activating the frameworks of cooperation and coordination between the two countries will represent a framework for the American Embassy during the coming period, expressing her aspiration for continued bilateral cooperation in many fields, especially the economy and education. It also clarified the possibility of cooperation between the two sides in the field of energy, based on Egypt’s distinguished position, which qualifies it to cooperate with neighboring countries in this vital field, and to play a pivotal regional role in the field of energy.
The American ambassador pointed out that there are 1,200 American companies operating in the Egyptian market, noting that these companies represent a model of success and conclusive evidence of the results of cooperation between the two sides. In this regard, she expressed her aspiration to support more direct American investment in Egypt.
The meeting witnessed a discussion on a number of visions and proposals that would contribute to supporting bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States of America, in areas of priority for both countries.
