The Israeli army summoned military reinforcements to the Jenin camp after discovering the presence of a special force in the camp.

Armed clashes, described as intense, broke out between the army and Palestinian militants, in which firearms were used and explosive devices were thrown at the invading forces.

Israeli Army Radio later reported that a drone was the one that fired the missile that targeted an armed cell in the camp.

Local sources reported that two injuries were reported by Israeli bullets on the outskirts of Jenin camp, and that a house was besieged amid continuing armed clashes.

For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that a serious abdominal injury had arrived at Jenin Governmental Hospital.

Repeated raids on Jenin

In the past two years, Jenin became a center for Palestinian attacks that targeted Israeli targets in the West Bank and inside Israel.

The Israeli army intensified its incursions into Jenin, and the matter culminated in an operation called “Garden and House” at the beginning of last July, which was the largest carried out by the Israeli army in the camp in 20 years.

The operation resulted in the killing of 12 Palestinians and an Israeli soldier, and left great destruction in Jenin, where the operation was concentrated.

According to Israeli statements, the operation aimed to deter and put an end to the Palestinian attacks that have escalated in recent months.

The Israeli army fired a missile directed at one of the houses in the camp, causing it to catch fire.
