The Ukrainian army said on Sunday that Russia launched its fifth drone attack on the capital, Kiev, in two weeks.
The Ukrainian army added that Ukrainian air defense systems destroyed all air weapons before they reached the capital.
The head of the Kiev Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, wrote on the Telegram application that no deaths, injuries or damage had been reported so far.
He added, "These systematic attacks...with drones prove once again that the invader is constantly waiting for the opportunity to bomb Kiev. They are testing new methods and looking for new ways to approach the capital, in an attempt to expose the location of our air defense."
The extent of the attack is not yet clear.
There has been no comment from Russia yet about the attack.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Sunday that Russian air defense systems destroyed 8 drones launched by Ukraine during the night.
The ministry wrote on the Telegram application that 3 of those aircraft were destroyed over Belgorod on the border with Ukraine, while 3 other drones were intercepted over the Black Sea.
Pro-Russian local officials in Donetsk also revealed that Ukrainian forces bombed Donetsk province with about 87 projectiles within 24 hours.
The officials explained that during the past 24 hours, “31 cases of bombing by Ukrainian forces were recorded, 16 of them on the Donetsk axis and 15 on the Gorlovka axis.”
