Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw will miss their opening game of the new season with a calf injury, the Premier League club said on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old England international sustained the injury at the start of pre-season training.
"He is working hard on his rehabilitation with the aim of being available after the first international break," United said in a statement.
United begin their league campaign at home to Fulham on Friday.
