Wael Kfoury ignites the Carthage stage after 9 years of absence

The day before yesterday, Friday, Lebanese star Wael Kfoury performed the first Arab evening at the Carthage International Festival and the second evening of the 58th session of the festival after the opening show with a bunch of his new and old songs.

Wael Kfoury returned to the Carthage Theater after an absence of 9 years to sing in front of 8,000 people who came to listen to “I Didn’t Promise You the Stars of the Night,” “The Strong Girl,” “I Didn’t Come Back,” “I Love You So Much,” “If Our Love Was a Mistake,” and “It’s Over, I Made a Decision.” “I love you so much,” “Sweet Love,” and other of his songs, which the audience sang with him for two hours with great interaction, despite the high temperatures.


Wael Kfoury, who apologized for making press statements, flirted with the Carthage audience with Tunisian words at the beginning of his concert, saying, “I miss you so much... where are you... it’s okay... thank you from the bottom of my heart for your presence and continued support. Your presence is the spirit of the festival, and God willing, Tunisia will remain a beacon of art and creativity.”


The audience returned their love and passion, as thousands of them were forced to line up for more than 3 hours under high temperatures to get their places before the concert began at 10 p.m.


The preparation for Wael Kfoury’s concert was also accompanied by widespread controversy on social media platforms as a result of the circulation of ticket prices for the concert, which are greatly exaggerated compared to other concerts. Their prices on the black market ranged between 300 and 600 dinars, or approximately 200 dollars, while the tickets he offered sold out. Carthage Festival to the public within 24 hours of announcing Kfoury’s concert in Carthage.


The evening of romantic art with Wael Kfoury lasted two hours after the theater was crowded with his fans from different generations, and thousands of his fans followed it via a live broadcast of the concert on Tunisian television. Followers of the cultural scene say that Kfoury’s evening achieved its artistic goals, revived the festival’s treasury, and showed that the programming of the Lebanese star was a decision.
