Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited Elon Musk, the American billionaire owner of the X platform, Tesla and SpaceX, to establish the seventh Tesla car factory in Turkey.
Erdogan's invitation came during his meeting with Musk, today, Monday, at the Turkish House in the US state of New York, which the Turkish President is visiting to participate in the work of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to the Turkish Anatolia News Agency, quoting a statement from the Presidency of the Communications Department, Erdogan briefed Musk on Turkey’s achievements in the field of technology, and narrated to him Turkey’s digital vision and the national strategy for artificial intelligence.
According to the statement, Erdogan invited Musk to attend the next edition of the local Technovest space technology festival in Izmir, and indicated the possibility of opportunities for cooperation with SpaceX in the steps that will be taken within the scope of the Turkish space program.
For his part, Musk expressed his desire to work with the Turkish authorities to obtain the necessary license to provide Starlink satellite services in Turkey.
Musk pointed out that Turkey is among the best options for establishing the seventh Tesla factory.
He also expressed his gratitude for the invitation extended to him by President Erdogan regarding attending the Technovest Festival.
