Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged his former US counterpart Donald Trump to publish details of a supposed peace plan, which he said would end the war in Ukraine “within 24 hours.”
Trump previously said, on CNN, that he would end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours, adding, "You need the power of the presidency to do that."
He stressed that he could stop the war, which began in February last year, by negotiating directly with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
But the former US president refused to say whether he wanted Ukraine or Russia to win the war.
Zelensky encourages Trump
Zelensky told CNN: “He (Trump) can now share the details of his idea publicly, and not waste time and lose people’s lives.”
He added: "He should say: My formula is to stop the war, stop all this tragedy, and stop the Russian aggression."
He continued: "He must reveal how we will expel the Russians from our land. Otherwise, he does not present the idea of global peace," noting that any peace agreement requiring Ukraine to cede territory to Russia "will not be successful."
