Pro-Iran factions in the city of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria, conducted live ammunition military maneuvers this morning, Tuesday.
Sources reported that the maneuvers took place in the Vanguard camp west of the city, where violent explosions were heard in the area.
These maneuvers come in conjunction with the mobilization of reinforcements and preparations by the pro-Iran factions west of the Euphrates, and the international coalition east of the Euphrates, within the framework of the regional escalation between Iran and Israel in the region.
Four trucks belonging to pro-Iran factions entered the city of Albukamal, east of Deir Ezzor, at dawn on Tuesday, via the railway crossing, and are likely loaded with military and logistical supplies from Iraq.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed that Iranian factions in Deir Ezzor announced raising the state of alert to the maximum level within the areas under their control, and summoned the leaders of the groups of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities from their vacations, amidst a high security alert.
Fears of a full-scale war in the region reached their peak after the assassination of Hamas political wing chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, and the killing of Hezbollah's top military commander Fouad Shukr in an Israeli attack on Beirut's southern suburbs.
