The Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, issued a ministerial decision today, Monday, to form a committee to unify the verbal evaluation scale and scientific average for all academic degrees issued in European scholarship countries.
Minister Al-Adwani said in a press statement that "the committee will study the criteria and systems of grades and establish an organized mechanism to unify the evaluation scale and scientific average for all academic degrees issued there." He added that "the committee will also prepare a report on the results of its work, including its recommendations and a draft of the mechanism for unifying the evaluation and scientific average and submit it to him within three months from its date."
Minister Al-Adwani explained that the chairmanship of the committee will be for the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, with membership of the Assistant Undersecretary for Scholarships, Equivalencies and Cultural Relations, the Director of the Scholarships Department, the Foreign Equivalencies Supervisor, the Head of the Britain and Ireland Department, and the Head of the Guidance and Counseling Department at the Ministry of Higher Education.
The committee also includes representatives from Kuwait University, Abdullah Al-Salem University, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, the Civil Service Bureau, and the Public Authority for Manpower.
This step comes within the framework of Minister Al-Adwani’s commitment to achieving the highest levels of quality and transparency in the equivalency of certificates and evaluation of academic qualifications, which contributes to supporting the journey of students abroad and facilitating their integration into the labor market.
